Diane Goslin – Final Appeal
March 31, 2008
On WEDNESDAY, APRIL 9 at 9:30 AM, the Commonwealth Court of Pennsylvania will hear the appeal of midwife Diane Goslin in the Supreme Court room, Capitol Building, Harrisburg. Last Fall Diane was ordered by the PA Board of Medicine to Cease and Desist from the practice of midwifery. Judge Collins stated in his decision that, “The Board has not asserted that Goslin has ever practiced in a negligent or dangerous manner.” However, the Board found her in violation of the law because, in the Board’s opinion, practicing midwifery is practicing medicine.
We are asking everyone interested in personal freedom to attend this final appeal and show your support for all midwives in Pennsylvania! If the Commonwealth Court upholds the Board of Medicine’s decision, they will systematically shut down every non-nurse midwife in Pennsylvania. The fate of all midwives in PA is now in the balance, and the time to act is now!
Diane has accrued $100,000 in legal fees, so this will be her final appeal. Win or lose, she can not appeal the decision to a higher court.
Please come to the Capitol Building in Harrisburg on Wednesday, April 9!
